Giving Alms to Beggars

I always remembered my granny, who tends to keep some loose change in her cute purse.Whenever we go to visit a church every Sunday, she gives some to beggars on the streets.Since I was raised seeing this, I also do the same thing when seeing one or two in the city proper.I wondered if people working in government could see this.During the pandemic, I did not see them because of the lockdown. Now they are here again. Do you think it is the government's responsibility to lift them out of this misery? Do you ever give money to beggars on the street? Image Credit: t3.ftcdn.net

No, I don't give money to beggars. In the US the beggars make more money than working people do and they drive better cars than we can afford.

I also heard that beggars can earn more than regular employees in companies. Unless they will use the money wisely.

@Shavkat Beggars aren't "earning" anything. They take advantage of nice people. The beggars should be caught and the money they beg given back to the working people they take it from.

I never want to give beggars money, they are very rich in their village. if possible maybe it's better to give it directly to orphans or foundations.

You have a poiht. I sometimes look at the beggars if it is worth to give them some alms.

I used to give everytme i saw someone with a Cup. But my finances became limited. I also had to stand out with a cup. It is a big help. This is great that you give money. The government should definitely give assistance especially senior citizens.

Speaking of senior citizens, they are not having the proper benefits. I do hope the next president who is in charge can bring the right grants for them to obtain.

In my country, a local government agency tries to help the needy. But I think it is not enough.

No, I don't. I don't encourage mooching. What they need is to work especially those beggars who are obviously young and healthy.

Some of the folks also think that way. In my opinion, the government can provide livelihood programs. Once they were trained, they can able to be productive in the society.
