Long Weekend Duty

It's long weekend here in the Philippines because on the 21st is Ninoy Aquino Day.
Today, Saturday night I am here at the City Plaza rendering an over time work for the Youth Employment Services Forms Distribution.
Even though it's weekend we were suppose to go home at my husband's home town but I received a message coming from my co-worker that he wasn't able to render an over time duty because something came up very important.
We were out of town but decided to go back home to the city because I have to work.

I haven't lived in the Philippines since 2012, and I am trying to remember that holiday. Was it called a different name before?
Anyway, I hope you don't need to work too long during your supposed holiday so you and your family can still do something fun. At least they will have to pay you extra for working that day, right?
