Lesson Learned The Hard Way

My cousin Facetimed me and she's in tears. Her long, waist-length hair is a disaster! Turns out her mom met a new friend who does nails. Since they're friends, they arranged for a home service. She, her mom, and her sister-in-law had their nails done. For some reason, my cousin asked her if she knows how to trim hair. She said that it's just a trim so it's easy. She then said that she wanted to trim about 2-3 inches of her hair just to make it look healthier and get rid of the split ends. The nail tech agreed. In 5 minutes, she said her beautiful, long hair looked like it was hacked by a machete. The nail tech tried to give her layers, each layer has a gap of 3 inches and they're not even. The shortest layer is above her shoulders. She asked her why she cut too much, and the nail tech told her that it still looks good, and that her hair grows back fast so she should not worry too much. Well, she said lesson learned, always seek a professional for something that she wanted done correctly and perfectly.

We all learn from our errors in life when we never seek professional help for our problems.

She now has to go to a salon, something that she acknowledges she should have done in the first place.

Oh no..I am so very sorry..that was a big mistake..nail techs do not know how to cut hair!! Even some hairdressers are useless with long hair and only want to chop it. I know as I was a hairdresser and was shocked to see some of my coworkers chopping off long hair to pieces.

It is indeed a very big and quite expensive mistake that my cousin will never forget.

That nail tech sounds arrogant and rude. Some people believe that their opinion about your hair is the final say. I actually usually trim my own, but it is nowhere near that long and is not straight so any mistake I make is taken up by the waves.

I also don't know how she just decided to give my cousin layers when she clearly asked for a trim of 2-3 inches off. Oh well!

That sounds pretty devastating. I at least hope the nail tech apologized.

It doesn't sound like she did. She keeps convincing my cousin that it looks good.
