My Grandson and Kids

My grandson is 21 but still enjoys his games and his Nerf guns on occasion. (We are all a family of big kids) He has been collecting Nerfs since he was a itty kid. Today the kids in the neighborhood and my grandson are playing with the Nerf guns. (Oh, Gods please give me tolerance and patience today.) The front door is open and kids are yelling and screeching. I usually live in a quiet world. This is too much and has been going on for too long(a couple of hours at least). My grandson just came upstairs and gave me a wide-eyed look as if he had had enough too. I told him you need to tell them we are getting ready to have dinner and it's time to call it a day. The noise level went down soon after he went back downstairs. He is a very kind soul but he had had enough too. When you are used to living in a quiet world it is hard to put up with half a dozen kids. My daughter watches a couple of them for a new neighbor once or twice a week. Very well-mannered children but enthused and curious. It's so nice to be around mannerly kids who are respectful and listen.

I am lucky that way things are so quiet in my apartment that the world outside might not exist, The cats are used to this too so if any big noise occurs outside I have two cats who practically hit the ceiling and go charging to find a place to hide. I have asked them as the disappear what about me doesn't anyone care what happens to me but it is always every cat or human for themselves,

Our cats are used to peace and quiet and when someone comes over or these kids run around the cats run in all directions and find hiding places only cats can get into.

Same with me. I've done my part and any kids coming here need to be polite.

@RubyHawk ........Parents used to teach their kids good manners. Not so much nowadays.

Kids, not my cup of tea at all these days. They are wild and savage here.

The ones we have here right now are just loud. My daughter and grandson say the kids are very polite which is a very nice change.

I am too. I can get nasty when kids are bratty.

I don't care for noise the older I get as well. When our housekeeper used to bring her screaming son over, I thought I would lose it. We like it quiet. Have a good rest of the holiday weekend.

It's good the kids there are well-mannered. Ours are too unruly and disobedient to parents.

@celticeagle when we discipline them we'll be tagged as cruel and it's against the law.
