I am sure some of you experienced getting lost in your life. In fact, we can never be lost our ways. It is because we can read and ask the right people for the directions. It could also fun to be in such a situation because you can go around and explore the unfamiliar place. It is a matter of knowing it and be familiarized with it. Have you ever get lost before? How do you handle it?

Yes, many times because I can be directionally-challenged. Even with a GPS, I can be hopeless. Also, I am too proud to ask for directions, I always end up finding my way anyway even though I have to spend more time going around and around because I am too hopeless and proud. Not a good combination!

I am too proud to inquire direction, especially sometimes came across someone terrible,he/she won't tell you a right direction.I used navigation system, such as GPS,to work out direction.

Raine38, we are so much alike! I can get lost so easily, but I don't mind asking for directions. GPS has sure helped me a lot.

@jefferson126 I've fallen victim to those who sent me in a totally wrong direction, so I am now insecure to ask for help.

Yes, I ended up in a different state! Finally, I realized it, and asked for directions. In my defense, I was 16, and had just learned to drive.

@AmbiePam I would be laughing for ending up to another place. The fun is always there despite being lost.

In our younger days, Hubby and I used to drive around trying to get lost . . . it never worked . I think our sense of direction was too keen . . . we know this city inside out, there was just no way for us to get lost .

It is also the same thing in my city, unless if I am in another city. It will surely make me need more time to explore it.

I agree. We can also consider the feeling of safe at a particular place while looking for our final destination. We can scrape through this matter.

I also experienced this before. The locals do not know the directions. It was a big lesson, so I try my best to find a police officer.

The unforgettable experience of me being lost in Tajikistan more than a decade ago. I was lost in the middle of the desert place and am not familiar with the other passengers at that time. Luckily, a police car came along and asked the police officer to ride with him and be to the main town.

The first time I travelled abroad, I also experienced being lost in the airport in Hong Kong. I was a bit anxious because I cannot find the exit and where to get my luggage.

Yes I did get lost before. It wasn't fun because I kept asking for directions and I was frustrated. But you are right that someone can enjoy by exploring the new location.

It would be more frustrating if the locals do not know the directions, too. But I am confident that most of us can able to find the final destinations in the long run.

It is also a good thing to have the navigation app through our mobile phone. Although I still use a paper map in case of running out of battery.

@jefferson126 I think it is normal not to use the paper map. If ever I do not have it, I can just ask the locals for the right directions. It would be a problem if they cannot communicate in English.

I must admit that I am not good at roaming around in my country's capital. I usually asked help from my sister there. I am glad that you have her in your life. The feeling is mutual.

I do felt anxious when I was lost in Tajikistan before, especially in the countryside. It made me more nervous when the car that I riding on broke down in the middle of nowhere. I need not to say anything because the locals are with me. I do not want for them to take advantage the situation. I am not saying that they are bad, but I need to be vigilant for possible danger at that time. The good part is that I was able to hitchhike and luckily, it was one of the police officers in this country.

My sense of direction is very poor. I get lost easily. One time in Japan, when I got out of the subway, I didn't know the way back to my hotel. I was quite scared because I was alone and it's getting late. Fortunately, I got help from a nice person.
