What is he going to do? Declare bankruptcy again?

Before you go attacking me, I was a Republican until 2008 and the Tea Party got started. I will again vote Republican when all the wackos are evicted from the party. That saying, even if I hadn't left, I would not have voted for Trump. So, when I hear a Federal judge has determined Trump is liable for defamatory statements made against writer E. Jean Carroll and that this judgment "is binding in this case and precludes Mr. Trump from contesting the falsity of his 2019 statements." I have to wonder... After all, four months ago he was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll and she was awarded $5 million dollars for damages. Now there is another trial to determine how much more Trump must pay Ms. Carroll for damages. And, all I could say, having read this, is he going to declare bankruptcy again? It does seem to be his way out of not paying his debts. Hopefully, the court will say that if he can not pay, and tries to declare bankruptcy that all his property, holdings, etc. will be sold off. AND if he tries to declare Mar-a-Lago as his residence, then it should be confined just to his apartment in the building, the rest of the property is actually a money making venture after all.

I've always tried to do my homework on candidates and vote for the person, not the party. And then, Trump was in the picture. I saw through his lies and did not vote for him. After seeing just how some of these Republicans support him, I doubt very much I will ever vote for another Republican. I have always leaned left, or voted for who I thought would do the best job at the time. Our system is broken.

Amen on the broken system. I mean, no government system is perfect. Probably the only one that would be perfect would be a benign dictator, a benign, immortal dictator.

@MarieCoyle I'm not sure you know your early 'American' history. Before the Constitution, but after the Revolutionary War there was a brief time when what would become the United States was really a loose confederacy. It was a mess. Each state was basically its own country. It was soon apparent to those men who lead the colonies to rebel would also soon be easy prey to Great Britain, or some other, strong European country, to swoop in and pick each one off and return what would become the US to a colonial rule. Yes, the country that size would've been easier to govern - not rule - but it took longer to ride a horse or sail a ship from one end to the other than it does to drive across it today, and don't even talk about the instant communication of telephones and internet. Honestly, while it might seem the 'Feds' are all up in our lives, there really are many State's Rights that govern things. Donald Trump seemed to be under the misconception that as President he 'ruled' the United States. However, until FDR the President was much more a figurehead, often considered the weakest branch of the Federal government.

@ElicBxn I personally feel that the US in general is just too big, too diversified, and basically just too...everything, for one single leader. Maybe just figure things out and split us up? I don't know the answers..I often wonder if anyone does.
