The officials of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) located in Sault Ste. Marie in Michigan answered an emergency call from an eyewitness of a 70 year old man who was inside a sailboat that had no engine running, no sail and a dinghy without a motor that ran around at Temperance Island in Michigan on Wednesday daytime hours.
The USCG sent a small boat from St. Ignace to Temperance Island to rescue the 70 year old man and take him from the island by using a 15 foot rescue skiff to rescue him and take him to Mackinaw City to be treated for any stressful situation from being in the boating accident.
The name of the 70 year old man was not mentioned or the names of the USCG officials involved in the rescue.
