Ohio State Highway Patrol officers answered a call from concerned animal lover who saw a female piglet who fell off a transport auto traveling on Interstate 35 on Thursday in Columbus Ohio.
A female Ohio State Highway Patrol Officer whose name was not released was able to rescue the female piglet walked through the vegetation and pick up the small animal who is named Pearl Pancetta which is the name of the piglet that was bestowed on her by officials at the Ross County Humane Society after the police officer took the piglet after the rescue.
Pearl only suffered from road rash when she fell down the highway into the grassy area near the interstate.
Pearl will spend time at a home at the humane society until her owner will come to pick her up.
The other option is that Pearl will find a home with other hogs and avoid being food for humans at this time.
