Why do my cat neighbours sniff my car?

Cats exhibit some really strange behaviour at times. I've mentioned in a previous post that there's a cat that lives up the road from me who sometimes likes to come into my house, and even sleep here overnight. I don't mind, she's well-behaved and I like cats. But there's an odd thing she's done several times now. When I arrive home from work in my car, just after I've switched off the engine, she comes up to the front of the car and sniffs at the radiator grill. She did this today, and she even licked it two or three times. Then her sister came over and did the same thing? Why? What attaction has the smell and taste of a car got for cats? Completely baffling.

Sometimes you pick up attractive seats while driving. And because the car is ohot, after driving a while, cats are attracted also to the heat.

It could be the anti freeze smell..it is sweet smelling. Or something else. Cute though. Or maybe she likes your scent.

I hope I don't smell like a car engine! ;-) But yes, the antifreeze smell sounds like it might make sense. Cats do tend to like sweet smells.

Because it tastes good animals don't know that things that we would stay away from might not be safe to lick or eat. Also, cats will curl up under cars to stay women.

I have no idea why they do this, but the cat of my neighbors does the same.
