Waiting for TD16 to become TS Ophelia

Son2 and I are leaving Kure Beach today just as the storm that will be named Ophelia is approaching. I say will be. The storm hasn't worked up the speed to go from being a tropical depression to a tropical storm quite yet. That hasn't stopped the wind here along the coast from blowing too hard to fish. It's howling down out of the north and riling up the ocean something fierce. I posted a real of the breakers at the pier on the River Sailor Instagram if you want to check it out. I hope all the folks in London are doing OKAY. I read this morning that torrential rains struck the area and there was lots of flooding. Son2 and I are headed for breakfast. What are you up to?

The storm messed up our camping plans. Luckily, the owner of the campground was very flexible in allowing us to reschedule for the end of October. The campground we'd have been at is directly in Ophelia's path.

@snowy22315 Son2 and I were glad it didn't get close enough to interfere with our plans. We only had the cottage until Friday morning, so were headed home anyway. The camping trip K and I planned was rescheduled because she had to work this weekend due to a deadline being advanced by two weeks. She's working remotely as long as the power lasts.

I'm sorry Ophelia messed up the fishing. Stay safe and drive safely. We are hoping the outer bands reach us as we could use the rain. Nothing much going on here. Have a good weekend.

Son2 and I were scheduled to come home Friday morning, so we didn't wind up missing any time on the pier. K and I had already rescheduled our camping trip due to her having to work this weekend because a deadline got moved up two weeks.

Surprisingly enough, the rough ocean yesterday stirred up some fish we hadn't seen in the previous 2 days.

We left the island mid-morning and were home by lunchtime. The storm is brushing us here, but not badly yet.

We left the island this morning. Now, I'm watching to see how bad things get here away from the coast.

I'm going to pick the rest of the tomatoes, I think. And make tomato sauce

Yes, we caught the tail end of the last hurricane. Had a fair bit of rain, but nothing more
