Ophelia is moving into our neighborhood

Personally, I'd rather she go to a nunnery. Have I used that line before? It's from Hamlet. Son2 and I left the beach this morning while the wind was whipping but the rain wasn't yet falling. We did take a walk down to the ocean to watch the waves. I took some videos that you can watch as a Reel on the River Sailor Instagram. The breakers along the pier were impressive. Back here at home, we are experiencing some wind and rain. It is supposed to get worse into the evening and night. My fingers are crossed that we don't lose power. Ophelia did cause us to postpone the camping trip K and I had planned. I called the owner of the campground. He had no problem rescheduling our stay. The location of the campground is right in Ophelia's path. Towing the rig there in this wind and rain would have been foolhardy. If you are in Ophelia's path, I hope she does you no harm. How was your weather this Thursday?

It stormed in my part of Missouri during the night and twice during the daytime. We have a 50% chance of storms and showers again this evening/tonight. Our high was supposed to be 77F but we've made it 73F once and then the temp dropped back down to 70F again.... I don't believe we'll reach the predicted high today. This is just "normal" weather for us in September. I hope Ophelia avoids everyone we know... Good luck!

On her current track, Ophelia's center should pass 30 to 50 miles east of us. We're getting plenty of wind and rain. I heard the midwest was in for some severe weather later this weekend. I hope it misses you.

@DWDavis I hope you're doing okay and nothing bad happens there. We had a some severe storms last night and it rained most of the day... The forecast says more storms tonight and through Sunday. Thanks... I don't mind rain but am not fond of the severe storms. We lost power twice last night for about half an hour each time. I have no idea what happened. We rarely lose power.

@DWDavis That is true since some storms are going to be in the area starting tomorrow and next week.

It is great that they didn’t mind you rescheduling since you can’t help it after all.

The campground owner was very understanding. Most of the time, as long as you're rescheduling and not just canceling, they try to work with you.

The campground owner was very understanding when I told him about K's deadline being moved up. He was the one who brought up the storm.

From the current forecast track, she'll pass about halfway between us and the coast. We are in for lots of wind and rain.

@Ronrybs We had some small branches down and lots of leaves littering the yard, but no major damage.

Stay safe. We may get the outer bands of Ophelia. We could really use the rain. Have a good weekend. Our weather has been sunny and around 80. It will go back into the 70s this weekend.

The outer bands of rain being pushed by Ophelia were already reaching CT and NY and pushing in. You may get some of that rain before it's over.

It is a good thing that it was a sunny day today. The random change of weather makes the kiddies got cold. But, they are fine now.

We should be okay here. Seeing lots of wind and rain and keeping our fingers crossed the power stays on.
