Day 72 Luke 13:34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! 35 See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’” People know or have stubborn friends and family members they try to talk to or pray for, but their stubborn nature refuses to listen to reason. Jesus prayed for Jerusalem who killed the prophets. He wanted to take care of them as a hen her chicks, but they wouldn’t let Him. As He prayed, He said her house would become desolate until His return when they would bless Him. As Christians, you have many people in your family and among your friends that you pray for. You don’t want them to perish without Christ but have eternal life when they die. Prayer is all you can do because they refuse to listen to anything you tell them. There is nothing you would not do for them if they would let you. Instead, they mistreat you and your ideas of faith and love. Jesus prayed over Jerusalem with a broken heart, knowing they would soon do to Him what they did to the prophets who came before Him, warning the people to change their behavior before it was too late. Death is the only time it is too late to pray for your loved ones. Pray for them and watch God work in their lives and bless Him for changing their hearts before it’s too late. Let’s pray: Father, let my prayers come before You as incense for my loved ones who don’t know you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Yes, atheism is a form of stubbornness too, I think. They use that to close the doors on all open discussions, and so are deaf to the truth, but a prayer might still work a miracle in their life too, so prayer for loved ones should never be put off, because of any disagreements, or altercations, between parties.
