Something just happened with the washing machine!

I put on the first load of washing this morning as usual.
Near the end of the cycle I heard this almighty clanking sound! I said to my Mum, what was that? Then I had a terrible thought! Was that the washing machine?? That doesn't sound right!
Well, the clanking sound stopped and then it beeped to tell me the load had finished. So I went to empty the drum.
I got out Mum's blouse and Mum's skirt but then when I tried to get my trousers out, I couldn't get them out! They were stuck fast! I managed to get everything else out, my blouse and my step-dad's shorts and shirt and some pants, then I could look closer to see what was going on with my trousers. They were stuck fast and the drum wouldn't turn round.
I couldn't do anything with it, so I went upstairs to see my Mum. She was on the loo. I knocked on the door and said, Mum, we've got a problem. You know that terrible sound the washing machine was making? Well my trousers are stuck at the edge of the drum, and I can't get them out! My Mum said, go back down and I'll be down when I've finished.
So I went downstairs and I had another go at getting my trousers out. I managed to move the drum round a bit, but it was very stiff. So then I could get at the trousers better. I thought it was stuck in the seal at the edge of the drum. I could feel something that felt like a lip of rubber. So I started to riddle the trousers out and eventually I managed to get them out. But then I saw something that left me dumbstruck! The end of one leg of my trousers was stuck to the top just below the waistband by a strip of black plastic! In fact there were two pieces of black plastic, one larger than the other, and they were stuck fast, sticking my trouser leg to my waistband!
When my Mum came down I told her I'd managed to get my trousers out of the washing machine, but then I showed her what had happened to them. She said the plastic was not from the washing machine. It must have got in off something else, then melted in the heat, and stuck to my trousers and the side of the washing machine.
I tried to move the drum round again, but it was very stiff and definitely not moving like it should do. We think maybe another bit of the plastic has got in somewhere and is blocking it.
My Mum said it's best not to do any more laundry today. My step-dad has got insurance on the washing machine with British Gas. So he's going to phone them up and get them to come out and look at it, but I don't know when. If they can't get it fixed, we might need a new washing machine!
Now my step-dad doesn't know how long we've had it, or what the model number is or something.
I'll update you later!

Thank you very much. I hope we can get it fixed, but the guarantee ran out on it in 2011 apparently.

@sharonelton - I had mine from 1999 and I was very happy with it. I was sad when it broke.

@LadyDuck Yes, it is rather old but it has served us well. If we have to have a new washing machine, then we'll have to work out how to work it again. I hope it comes with a dummies instruction booklet!

Oh this is sounds like a big complicated thing happened..
Before putting the clothes it is better to check inside the pockets held something which may disturb the washing system.
You have found & taken it something after a stuck.
What is the name of your washing machine?
You check there will be a barcode , customer care number , model number and all ..
So you can contact the mechanic to solve the issue.
It is also better to check the insurance document issued by British Gas .
Don't worry, it will be fixed soon.

@sharonelton Oh . Your washing
machine 's guarantee ran out in 2011...?
If it is fixed that's good.
Or else if you go for a new washing machine Just try to buy IFB or Bosch ..
They are the Best .
It has a lot of convenient features.
But surely it costs much .

Yes, it was a bit complicated.
The piece of plastic stuck to my trousers, and my trousers don't have pockets. In fact I don't think anything in that load had pockets.
It's a Haier.
My step-dad deals with all the details, finding bat code, customer care number, model number and that stuff. And he deals with insurance documents. Our guarantee ran out in 2011.
I hope it will be fixed soon. If not we'll have to get a new washing machine.
The British Gas man will be coming sometime this afternoon any time between 12:00 noon - 5:00pm!.

@writerjo Yes, our washing machines guarantee ran out in 2011!
The British Gas man should be coming some time this afternoon, so we'll see if it can be fixed then. If not, it's off to buy a new washing machine! I know Bosch is good but i don't think I've ever heard of IFB.
We'll see what happens!

@shatenelton Now that is troublesome. If step-father doesn’t know how old the machine is I’d say it’s probably time for a new one.

Yes, it is. I'm sure we need a new washing machine too. The guarantee ran out on it in 2011. Anyway, the guy's coming to look at it tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck with that!
It's really weird because last week, I put some washing in our machine and it started up as usual but then stopped when it got to the bit when it should fill with water, and it tripped all the downstairs power sockets! We haven't yet figured out what's wrong with it, and I had to take a big load of washing to the laundrette!
And then yesterday my partner called his parents for his usual weekly chat, and they told him their washing machine had blown up - literally! And melted the metal drum!!
If I was into conspiracy theories I would think Putin had somehow sabotaged all the country's washing machines!!

Thank you very much.
Wow! So we've both been having trouble with our washing machines! And your partner's parents too?
What has been going on with all the washing machines?

Ours need to be fixed too. The shocks we got works fine, but it was banging again. My mother thinks it's the bracket. So she is going to fix it soon.
