Firefighters rescue a heron trapped in a fishing line

Thanks to the actions of a concerned actions of a concerned animal lover who saw a heron tangled in a fishing line over a pond in a small island near Cary North Carolina Monday a week ago. A green heron was rescued by Cary firefighters after wildlife officials were not able to rescue the heron who was out of their reach when the heron was hanging on a tree branch. After the Cary firefighters were able to get the heron taken to shore where the firefighters were able to untangle the heron from the fishing line from the body of the heron. The heron was then taken to the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue in Union County where the heron will be in rehabilitation and rest. Link is upi.com/8821695240723 via @upi
