Long weekend... going to movie theatre

Good evening from this side of the planet It's 8:30 in the evening and it is drizzling outside. We had no dinner yet. We plan for a late dinner at 9 when husband is done with his last meeting call at work and my daughter would be done with her music class online. We generally have dinner around 7:30 but today everything is going at a relaxed pace. It was a holiday today on account of Eid. So, day started late with late breakfast and late lunch. Tomorrow is also a holiday as there is a state wide protest. And then Monday is a national holiday on account of Gandhi Jayanti ( Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi) . So, it is a long weekend for five days.. My husband will have work from home though. We plan to stay home and get a few pending work done and enjoy being lazy. Maybe one day we can go out for brunch at fancy restaurant. My daughter has her mid term exam starting Tuesday and she will use these days to study. Tonight husband and I are going to watch a late night movie in the theatre. The show starts at 10:25. It's a ten minutes walk from home but we would take the car as it might rain. My daughter and niece have already watched this movie with their college friends. This is the first time since the pandemic that we two are going together to a movie. Earlier this used be our weekly thing. It's the first time that my husband is going to theatre since the pandemic. I have been to few movies with my friends after the pandemic. We have watched a lot on Netflix and Amazon in the last few years. There is no rush to wake up early tomorrow and we just planned this movie thing. Good that we could grab the last two good seats in time. That's all is the plan for rest of the evening. Hope that you have a good time in your myLot corner. Stay happy and blessed!

It was good to go out. The movie has been a big hit but we didn't like it a bit. It could have been a good movie but then they tried to overdo everything. At the end, we had a headache.. It was like a headless chicken and we kept assuming that something good will happen.. It was chaotic. But we liked going back to theatre together once again We had fun otherwise with late night driving and popcorns, but the movie was terrible.

@arunima25 Ohh,well maybe next time pick a better movie...Some movies are disappointing, but if it was terrible I might have left. One time we went to one, which was not the one I wanted to see...and neither of us liked it much.

@snowy22315 Actually the movie is a big hit on box office. But I am yet to meet someone who liked it. Not sure how it turned out to be such a hit. We kept waiting in anticipation that something good will happen.

@arunima25 I stopped paying for Amazon Prime as I just do not have the time to watch movies. There was a time I never missed a single one - not much like Hindi movies though. The last one I saw was Sholay - years ago

The same with my mom. She occasionally watches if some really good movie is there. But she watches movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Do you watch movies?

@allknowing That's a long time back. Sholay is timeless. I can watch it even now. I don't get much time to watch TV. My TV time is limited to late night movie watching on weekends. Sometimes we end up doing binge watching . Anyways we have four people in home and the subscription is fully used. Moreover, our elder daughter uses our subscription in her college. My daughter's current semester is all about movie making and technology. So, she is watching a lot of movies as part of her course. Same with my niece. She is studying Journalism and media. They have to watch movies, TV channels, documentary etc. So, our subscriptions are used for every penny that we pay

Movies don’t usually show that late in our movie theaters unless it is something like Batman. They used to, but not anymore.

Oh! I see. When it is only my husband and I planning to go,we prefer the late night ones. If it's a family thing, we go for a bit earlier show, something around 7-8 in the evening.

It's second day here. It's actually off for me as my sessions are not fruitful online. But my husband is working and daughter is having virtual online classes. Enjoy your time with your son. Happy birthday and have a great year ahead with all health and happiness
