Two police officers and a stranger rescue two persons who fell into a canal

Thanks to an alert eyewitness who saw two persons who fell into the Erie Canal one hour after midnight on Sunday. Brockport Police Officers Joshua Sime and his partner Evan Blodgett and a stranger named Clarence Carithers who jumped into the canal to save Melanie Schwab, 34, and Jason Newcomb, 33, who was out cold in danger of drowning while Melanie was having a hard time keeping her head above the water. Evan performed CPR on Jason in an attempt to revive him while Clarence and Joshua were able to get Melanie out of the water safely. My view is that both police officers were the Guardian Angels as well as Clarence were at the right place at the right time when Jason fell into the canal by accident since the area was likely dark to the lack of light in the area. Both persons who fell into the canal were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for their scare with death and released shortly.
