A motorist who was driving his auto on Washington state Highway 167 in Auburn Washington last Wednesday driving on a northbound high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane by himself which is a violation of state law. The name of the motorist was not mentioned violated the rules of driving by himself tried to bend the rules of driving by dressing up a passenger who wore a Halloween mask affixed to the passenger seat along with a vest and scarf which did not impress Washington State Trooper Rick Johnson who is also the public information officer since a fake passenger wearing a Halloween mask may be scary but it does not count as a passenger. The driver was given a citation for his violation of driving in the HOV lane. Link is upi.com/27316958333566 via @upi

It’s surprising how many people try to get away with that.

@Aquitaine24 I just know about the ones that make the news, and while I haven't read about dozens, reading about eight instances surprises me. Those are just the weird ones we hear about. Then there was the pregnant woman who insisted being seven months along justified her using the HOV lane.

Maybe he needs to buy a mannequin doll to put in his passenger seat.

More realistic than a blow up one I hope.

He might have had better luck with a blow up doll...

Maybe a “My Size” Barbie, if they still make those.

I wonder what kind of costume it was that got the trooper’s attention.

He needs to have a big doll in the passenger seat that might have seen more real.

He needs to stay out of the HOV lane. Have a good week.

I am in agreement with you traffic laws are meant for our own safety.
