Are there people who when they call you, make you nervous?

My sister rarely calls me, and unless it is my birthday or something. 5 times out of 6 when she calls, it is because something bad is going on. Someone is in the hospital, or in a car wreck or some such thing. I maybe could have anticipated she would call today, and is the passenger on a long trip so she was probably looking for something to do. Other than the back gate of their Uhaul coming open when they were moving my nephew..(no harm done) and my uncles PSA levels being very high...it wasn't really a negative call. It was just general chit chat. However, I don't think my uncle really has much time left...but I guess we will see...poor guy. He was always our favorite uncle, with a big laugh that made everybody else laugh. He also has been one of the few supports my mother really has...sigh...

It isn't that she wants anything...I just have been conditioned to expect a bad report about something when she calls. The uncle was kind of an incidental. She mentioned it, but it wasn't the primary purpose for the call. I asked about him. Thanks, yeah...not good...I feel sorry for my Aunt who is really very sweet, but she might be tired of having to take care of him.

The last time my sister called me it was because Amyra’s art class was longer than usual that day, and she was waiting in the car, trying to pass time. I always know if she calls it is because something bad happened, or she is very bored. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

HA, HA, I know exactly what you mean...bored out of your gourd so you call your sister...or bad news to share call your sister...

I'm glad it wasn't a bad call. Your uncle sounds like a wonderful person.
When I'm not expecting a call from my siblings, I'm always afraid it will be bad news. My mother still has two living siblings. My aunt is in her 90s with dementia, and my uncle is in his 80s. He's also my favorite uncle and the youngest in the family.

Yes, I think my uncle is 80. His bday is in the spring...don't know if he will live to see 81. It's a shame both of his parents my gparents lived into their 90's.

Sorry that your uncle isn't doing well. I feel nervous when my in-laws call me early in the morning as it's often a bad news.

@aninditasen or late at night...when my dad had to go to the hospital one time...sis called at 12:30 AM. At least she called though...my mother ignored me, like I wasn't part of the family...

@snowy22315 My sister and I don't ever gab on the phone. But we do text every now and then . . . though the past year those texts from her haven't been exactly nice. I guess her text notices actually make me nervous
