Game wardens from the Pennsylvania Game Commission answered an emergency call that an elk in Sinnemahoning Pennsylvania Tuesday September 26 that had the bad luck of having his antlers entangled in a telecommunication wire that was wrapped around a utility pole and a nearby tree.
The game wardens sedated the elk to knock him out so that they could work on getting the elk out of the trap that could have ended in the death of the elk.
The elk was given a drug to reverse the effects of the drug that knocked him out. The elk was released by the game wardens after the elk was found to be in good health.

Good question because the game warden have stated that the area is a trap for elks to get stuck in the grass due to the wiring in that area.
