Chocolates and Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

Today a little expedition to Mayfair. I heard of a Chocolatiers on Old Bond Street. All I can say is they were a joy to savour. I have only eaten 3 of the 18 choc creams I bought. Far too good to rush.
Slightly further up the street and a name change to New Bond Street was the Diamond Merchants Harry Winston. Marilyn Monroe mentions him in the song Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. I suspect she was talking about the New York store!
Mayfair takes it name from a fair that was moved from Haymarket in the late 17th century. As you expect it took place on the 1st of May and lasted for 15 days. Because of the general illicit and illegal goings on taking place it was suppressed in the mid 18th century.

Not all women are mad after diamonds. I like gold more than diamonds but love chocolate.

@Ronrybs Gold is considered auspicious for all occasions and I love gold ornaments. Of course light and dainty.

@Ronrybs I remember going to Harrods with my Auntie Esther and she only went there to buy chocolates..oh my..so delish
