Further along in Mayfair is Savile Row, home of upmarket bespoke tailoring. It was also home to the headquarters of Apple Records and where the Beatles played their last live gig, on the roof of the building. Being five floors, my little camera couldn’t fit it all in frame.
Spies like James Bond and Kingsmen are known to frequent its salubrious environs and it is here that the Dinner Jacket, or if you like Tuxedo, was created, by cutting down a tail jacket as in white tie and tails, worn by Fred Astaire. Henry Poole & Co, where it was created refer to it an evening suit.
Savile Row, renowned for up market tailoring. Number 3 Savile Row headquarters of Apple Music. On the roof of this building the Beatles played their last live gig... until it was stopped by the police
