People are not taking the power outage well

I guess I understand because it rarely happens here and it normally is restored within minutes. We still have at least 2 hours to go. The autistic guy is beside himself that he won't be able to watch Jeopardy at 7. My neighbor's phone is almost dead so she is literally sitting in her car charging it with Whiskey and eating a sandwich she ordered from somewhere. She even asked me to bring down a spoon for her. I don't mind the no power but I do mind the dark. It is 6:38 pm and it is very dark in here despite the candles. I can read or cook or whatever if I can see. In the dark--not so much.

We don´t have power outages now but we had them a lot when I was a child. My mother lit a kerosene lamp that looked like Aladinne´s lamp and we sat around the dining room table. She recited poems to us so it was very special.

When you're not used to power outages, they can suck. Every time I hear a clap of thunder, I'm lucky the power didn't go out. I'm used to weeks without power. I hope yours restored in a few hours.

I hope your power came back on as scheduled. How did your dinner turn out? OK I hope.

Can you use your stove without power? We have a gas stove so if the power goes out we can still cook.
