Oh, God! was on cable the other night. George Burns was fun in his role as God. It made me think of the early years of television. He was in a television show in the fifties. I'm sure many may remember shows from the 60's like Patty Duke and The Ozzies. But how many of you remember further back to the 50's? George and Gracie ran from 1950 until 1958. Betty White had Life With Elizabeth from 1953 until 1955. There was also Steve Allen with his cohorts Louie Nye and Don Knotts(the cop on Andy Griffith's show), Red Skeleton, Car 54 Where Are You? My Mother the Car, and many others. Do you recall any of these?

I remember a lot of those since I was born in 1948. I also remember only having 3 channels to choose from. Now we have dozens of channels and still nothing to watch. Have a good day.

Yes, I also recall only having three stations. When we lived in Pocatello there was a fourth, channel 8 which only showed grade B horror movies.

I recall many of these. Some, I was too young to remember, or not around yet. We didn't get a television until 1956.

@celticeagle Ours was a Magnavox on four legs. I think we had that TV until I graduated from high school, though I could be wrong. I know we had it for a long time.

For some reason has a child I really enjoy watching The Red Skeleton Show, of course I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners and other goodies like The Andy Griffith show which came a bit into the 60s. You don't have such good shows anymore and I could just go on there was The Donna Reed Show and Father Knows Best etc,
