Today's trip to the little Tesco and a short update on the washing machine situation.

I've just been to the little Tesco again. This morning I was a bit cold, so I put a jumper on instead of a blouse. I looked at my weather app and it said, sunny 7° no chance of rain. So I wore my big grey coat (not the one with the hood.) The trolley had been left in the kitchen out of the way for when the plumber comes, so I had to wheel it all the way through the house to the back door! I had 3 letters to post first. As I was walking up to the post box there were two vans at the end of the road near the post box, and there were two guys there talking. There was an orange road barrier leaning up against one of the vans. As I approached, the two men moved so I could get passed and one of them moved the orange road barrier out of my way too. So then I posted my letters and continued on my way to the shop. I got 2 TV magazines as usual, and a bounty bar for my step-dad. My Mum wanted me to look for some sugar free biscuits, but I didn't think I'd be able to get any from the little Tesco, and sure enough, I couldn't. I then looked for some strawberries, but they didn't have any again, so I got raspberries again instead. I also got some red grapes. Then I got some egg custard tarts for my Mum and step-dad. As I was going to the milk, I saw that the fridge in which they usually are was closed up, and there was a sign on saying Please ask at till for milk/juices. I got some honey roasted peanuts, then headed for the till where I asked for the milk. While one lady was going to get the milk, the other one started to scan the other things. Then the other lady came back with the milk, and the lady scanning the things found that the film on the raspberries was split, so while she carried on scanning everything, the other lady went and got some more raspberries to swap for the ones with the split lid. Then, when the lady scanned everything, she told me how much it cost. But then I revealed the club card and TV magazine voucher. The lady said, Oh, I can't add that now, because I've already totalled it up! I'm going to have to scan everything in again! So, she cancelled the transaction and I had to get everything back out of the trolley so she could re-scan everything, and then scan the club card and magazine voucher! Then it came to £12 something. I must remember to give them the cards first! I set off for home. It was started to get warmer out. When I got in I was feeling hot in my jumper, so I took it off and put my blouse back on. I gave my Mum her change, club card, voucher and shopping list, and told her about my day (except for the debacle at the till!) I brought the trolley back through into the kitchen out of the way again. It was easier to unpack the groceries that way anyway, saves going back and forth to the trolley in the hall! So I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Then my step-dad came down to say the plumber had phoned and he's coming tomorrow afternoon! Which means we'll have to go to the big Tesco on Thursday again this week! Let's hope the plumber comes this time and we get our new washing machine connected! Anyway, what are you lot getting up to? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

I am glad you could go out grocery and it was easier to put the grocery away, but I cannot believe the plumber has not yet come to connect your washing machine. Let's hope he really comes tomorrow.

Thank you very much. Yes, I've got some groceries. This is the second plumber we've phoned because the first one didn't come. This plumber is good because he said he'd phone mid week and then come round at the end of the week, so I thought he'd phone tomorrow and maybe come Friday, but he phoned today and he's going to come tomorrow!

@sharonelton I remember the first plumber did not show up and your Mom called to cancel. I am glad this one called when he said. May be by Friday you will have your washing machine functioning.

@LadyDuck Thank you very much. I hope so yes, hopefully before Friday. My only worry is that the delivery driver who brought our washing machine couldn't switch the stopcock off, so what about if this plumber can't either?

@sharonelton That’s a long time without a washing machine. We have a launderette near our apartment here which is handy.

We've been four weeks without a washing machine now. If this plumber manages to connect the washing machine I'll be able to do some laundry on Monday. I wouldn't really want to traipse all the way to a laundrette with my washing.
