Day 96 Acts 3:12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 You denied the Holy One and the Just and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 His name, through faith in His name, made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him gave him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. 17 Yet now, brethren, I know you did it in ignorance, as did your rulers also. 18 Those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He fulfilled. 19 Repent, therefore, and be converted, so that your sins may be blotted out, and times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 so that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God had spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you will hear in all things, whatever He says to you. 23 And it will be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet will be destroyed from among the people.’ 24 Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as had spoken, also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your seed all the families of the earth will be blessed.’ 26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.” We live in a time when wonders cease to amaze us. We see advancements in every area of life and only wonder what they will come up with next. When men rocketed to the moon and set foot on it, we watched in amazement. Yet since then, nothing amazes us anymore. We take everything for granted. You should never cease to be amazed at what you can achieve. Peter and John entered the temple at the time of prayer, three p.m., and saw a lame man begging for alms on the temple porch. Instead of giving him alms, they told him to rise and walk in the name of Jesus. When he did, everyone who knew him came to see the miracle that took place, amazed that he could stand and walk. Peter took the opportunity to tell them what took place. He told them about Jesus, and how they killed Him, and let a murderer go free. Peter did not condemn the people for killing Jesus but showed how it was God’s will for Him to die so they could receive salvation. He showed them how every prophet beginning with Samuel showed that Jesus would die. Then Peter told them that if they rejected Jesus and what He did for them, God would destroy them. Those who accepted Him would know His blessing and God would blot out their iniquities. Many Christians don’t stand in awe of God’s Word. They expect God to work in their lives just as He did throughout the Bible. Yet, they take God for granted and don’t give Him praise when they see what God did for them. Then the blessings stop. They no longer see God working in their lives. Christians who stand in awe of God, giving Him praise for everything He does in their lives will receive God’s blessing in their lives. They don’t take Him for granted. They don’t boast about what they did, but what God did for them. When you spend your time in praise and worship, giving honor to God, praying, and rejoicing in what He does for you, you will always see God’s blessing in your life. God’s work in your life should amaze you to the point of praise. His work should bring you to your knees in worship as you stand in awe of Him. What do you need God to do for you? Give Him praise and watch Him work. Let’s pray: Father, I stand in awe of You, giving You praise for everything You do in my life. Let me never take You for granted and the many blessings You give me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 20 October 2023 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

I think that there are still miracles today. But they don't happen often.

Yes, there is no excuse for us not living a Holy life, following God's word, and enjoying the reading of it. We are saved by the grace of God. Salvation is not a given, that then allows us to take God for granted, in our lives.
