And the last person to hold the torch and taken finally to where it will burn is the first Chilen woman that won a silver medal in 1951. She is 90 years old and two former tennists medallists helped her take it to light the big torch. It was very moving.
When I see this, I feel that this is what should be done to make everyone respect us women. I feel the same respect when I talk with my 100 year old aunt.
In the Stadium, the biggest we have, the best orchestras of folk music sing while drons make figures in the air.
Folk musicians are known world wide because part of their career was during exile. And they sing about the need of not being separated if the Earth and the Sky want us to be united. It is very beautiful as a song for this moment.
It is early, but I´ll stop mylotting. I don´t want to miss this.
Take care. Sleep tight.

I do not blame you for wanting to seeing an event that does not happen every day.

I have. Our President is very young and he had his nephew on his knees during all the inaguration. It was nice too.

@LadyDuck I did like it when Muhammad Ali held it years ago though. I was a fan of Ali.

@marguicha This is true. Most of the time the torch is in the hand of a man.

That's quite inspiring for a 90-year-old to carry the torch. She can walk further than I can! Enjoy the games and your weekend.

Absolutly! It was lovely and moving. She carried it only for some steps. What we did here was to have several former Chilean medallists give the torch one to the other. The last one was this lady and she was surrounded by 2 young men who have been medallists a few years ago.
