TV: Fire Country

Good day to you all, hope you have a good Saturday. I just started watching this show called Fire Country which originally aired on CBS. It originally aired on October 7, 2022. I am only two episodes into the show and see there is one season so far, but I guess it has been renewed for a second season, although I have not seen when that season will be airing. The show is about this inmate who works on the California Conservation Camp Program which takes inmates to assist and work alongside firefighters in hopes of learning a trade and shortening their prison sentences. Now I have not investigated this to see if it is a real thing or not, but the show seems interesting so far. I am not really complaining but I found something a little funny about the first episode. You can tell it is a recently made TV show. You have the white guy who is the main character, you got a black guy and girl who seem like some of the main characters. We get to find out in the first episode that the black girl is a lesbian, who hits on a white girl right away. We have another main character who is Latino of some sort. We have another mix race dating couple. So far, the only things I have not seen that every show seems to work into it now adays, is the Asian, the person confused on their sexual identity and a vegan. Of course, I am only two episodes into it so maybe they just have not gotten to them, yet. Funny to me how it seems any new shows over the last few years must include all those things. I understand the world is filled with many different people but sometimes it just seems to me to be forced. Like they have a check list of types of people that need to be included in the show. They go down the list checking them off to make sure they have everyone included. So far, the show is interesting and I will keep watching and see where the show goes. I’ll update you another time and let you know what I think.
