Mike Johnson is the new Speaker of the House

That was quick. . . well at least for his nomination. Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson emerged as the latest Speaker nominee late last night and he was unanimously voted in by the GOP this afternoon. He has been sworn in and is now 2nd in line to the presidency. Johnson doesn't have big name recognition like MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, etc. but he is in the same Insanity caucus as them. He is an election denier who voted to disenfranchise the voters of 4 states on January 6. He won't say that Biden was legitimately elected. He is in favor of a national abortion ban. He wants to cut Social Security and Medicare. He is against LGBTQ rights and marriage. So yeah pretty on-brand for the current Republican party. Can't wait to see what the Chaos caucus comes up with next.
