Your higher self, your true self

Only with God on your side is all well. Without God we live a downhill life

Our true self, our higher self, is one that we can never live from on our own. We need the help of God to raise us to this height, so that we can be our true self. In this way, we can move past who we are now, and the limited abilities that we might possess of mind, and body. Our true self is the real us, that God created us to be, and who we can be when we enlist God’s help for us to be so. In this way, we connect to God, and we begin to live then from our divine personality, rather than just from our human personality. Our own limits of our being us cannot be moved beyond, unless we enlist God’s help for us to do so. When we connect to our soul, we give life to our life, and so only then can we fulfil God’s divine purpose for our life. Our soul, working with God, can help us to avoid falling into sin, which acts to trap us in our minds, and bodies. We must not let sin rule us, but we must rule over it. In the Old Testament, of the Christian Bible, is this verse in Genesis, chapter 4, verse 7, which tells us this: "If you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it." Real love is not of your body, nor of your mind, as real love is an attribute of God’s, that he places in your soul, for you to develop and energise your life from, and so then, you can grow wiser in the living from love, even as learning love’s truths can then further remove you from the traps of your lower self, your mind, and body, which link you to sin, and to God’s adversary, the Devil. Stay with God, stay connected to God, and to your true self, your soul, and live a holy life for God, whilst still here on his Earth. Yes, we need to stay connected to God to bring about what God's purpose is for our life.

If we neglect, and step away from God, we grow cold in our life, and move away from God's purpose for our lives. When we are not with God, we are against God, and when we are not with God we live from sin then, rather than from love. When we stay living from our real self, we can move away from the sins of the flesh, and of our mind. Romans, chapter 7, verse 26, talks of this: "This, then, is my condition: on my own, I can serve God's law only from my true self, while my human nature serves the law of sin." We rely on the help of God then, to live a life for God, and we live a life not for God, when we are serving the law of sin, from our body, or our mind.

@innertalks I agree with you. It's better to live our lives doing God's will than to live for self.

@just4him Yes, the two sorts of life are poles apart. One leads to eternity, with God, and the other to eventual oblivion, in a way.

God will help us along our path and even if we go in the wrong path he is still with us.

Yes, God will always try to help us to get back onto the right path for our own unique life. God stays with us through thick, and thin, and so we should never give up on God, either.

Sadly, we live a life devoid of spirituality or rather we are forced to be part of it by a scheming minority who manage to have their way even in liberal democracies. Even babies are brutalized by war. Maybe, God has to be more proactive to protect the innocents as things are going out of hand.

Yes, the world is becoming more barbaric. It would be good if God stepped up to the plate, and became an active influence in our world, once more again. That God is not doing so, seems to hasten our fall away from love. We need more good leaders, to step up, if God keeps staying in the background of our lives.

@Shiva49 Yes, the wicked seem to be getting more wicked, and the good seem to be mostly just sitting idly by on their hands. And then there are the in-between, the ruthless, like Putin, and Israel now, that use the tommygun to kill off any fleas that are bothering them.

@innertalks Yes, God has to hear the plaintive cry of the believers over generations when he seems to be AWOL! Some bear the brunt of wickedness for not their fault and are made the sacrificial lamb. Such acts are an affront to humanity and our conscience We see the butchering and hear the relentless war cries but are helpless to confront them. The power of the few wicked carries the day making the vast majority take cover and cower in a corner hoping their prayers are answered.
