Movie: The Day after Tomorrow The Day after Tomorrow was released in 2004 and is rated PG-13. This action, sfi-fi, thriller stars Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhall. The main plot of the movie is that a shift in the climate quickly brings on massive storms ultimately bringing on the next ice age. The plot is interesting if not silly, the effects for the time of release were quite good. The movie makes you think and wonder. I would certainly say it is an entertaining movie. I have to say if you really think about it, it becomes silly quite quickly. Or you can just sit back and try not to think about the silliness of it. Somethings that were just silly to me. -The weather instantly freezes the fuel in helicopters but not in automobiles. -In a rush to find a place to ride out the storm, Sam Hall (Jake Gyllenhaal) tells his friends, we need to get higher, and they head to the library. We see later that it is surrounded by much taller buildings. -Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) and two others are going to travel from Washington D.C. to New York City to save his son. They pack up a pickup and head out. I’m not sure how well it will be traveling the grid locked highways or where they might get gas along the way. We do find out they make it near Philadelphia before having to walk from there. I never walked from Philadelphia to Manhattan but it’s about 100 miles and I guess in the worse winter storm ever they were able to make it in 3 days and 2 nights. -The public library in Manhattan has a lot of food in the vending machines for a sizeable group of people to live on for a week. Not to mention a whole lot of winter clothing in the lost and found. I won’t get into all the other odd things that happen in the movie but over all I thought it was a good movie and worth watching. If you can get past all the odd things that make no sense.

I remember when this movie was out but we never watched it. We aren't into those types of movies. And from some of what you said, it sounds silly. But I have noticed lately with things I have watched there are silly things in them as well. I suppose it is hard to not have things like that in movies/tv shows

Yeah, most do. If you don't read too much into films most people will miss a lot of it.

It's hard to cover all the details in movies! This movie was released right when climate change was at the height of research.

Yeah, it was a while back and just like I believe today they still don't have all the facts about it.

I like science fiction. Some are well done and some not so well.

I can't say I am really a fan; I have not seen that many, but I give this one a thumbs up. :)
