Shouting Like a Madman

While I was having my classes close to midnight, I heard someone shouting and banging something. Right after I finished my class, I took the liberty to do a little investigation. I found out that my landlord was banging on the door and screaming to let him in. If I am not mistaken, he was so drunk that the wife did not want him to enter their house. It was an episode that I needed to endure at random. It seems he was so ashamed of what had happened, so he offered a basket of guavas early this morning. I am sure we cannot consume them for one or two days.To prevent them from being rotten, I pickled them today.
Have you encountered a peace offering from someone who felt so embarrassed over something?

No, I've never encountered something like that. I hope you and your family enjoy the guavas.

@Shavkat I wouldn't like him doing it where I had to hear him. I hope it doesn't happen often.

@DaddyEvil Guess what? I heard an argument between him and his wife today. The landlord was drunk again and slept in his car to prevent disturbing the ambiance. But then, the wife is nagging for not going home last night.

I wish people around here felt embarrassed when they yelled and carried on. I remember years ago, two of my neighbors got drunk, mistook my apartment for their friend’s apartment, and tried to get into my place when I wouldn’t answer their knock. It was 1am, and I wasn’t opening my door to strangers! They then tried to kick my door in, convinced I was their neighbor. Finally, they went away. When they sobered up, I never got a verbal apology or anything; although, I didn’t expect one.

That's not a good thing. Since we are new here, a friend of our landlord is knocking at our door. He was scared because he could hear our twins' voices in the house. He thought that no one was living here. The landlord gave an apology at that time.
