Have a Frightful Halloween

Isn’t Halloween always boootiful? Walking in the dark is always scary I think. You never know who might be behind you or who you might bump into. When alone, I have always wanted to leave a light on somewhere it could be that I have nyctophobia, which is the fear of night or darkness. Do you? Are you afraid of anything that has to do with burials? Do you close your eyes during the movie “Frankenstein” when they are digging up bodies? Sepulchral refers to anything that has to do with burials and a sepulcher is a tomb or crypt for the dead. Are you going to walk through a cemetery on Halloween? Do you know anyone who has gone berserk? This term always makes me think of those terribly evil and horrid-looking clowns like IT on Halloween. Have you ever experienced trepidation when something spooks you? Remember Halloween is actually All Hallows Eve when the spirits of the dead come calling. Actually, I am looking forward to seeing some old friends. What about you? Please follow the link below to see some other spooky terms:

Nice Halloween discussion. I like everything to do with Halloween. I went all out when my children were living at home.

@jstory07 I even dressed up as a young adult and loved going out on Halloween, I was disappointed that only children at schools dressed up for Halloween in Latvia and only young adults went out partying in bars, There was no official trick or treat or anything but we celebrated at home just for the fun of it,

@RasmaSandra That was good that you celebrated at home for the fun of it.

I like going out in the dark, Maybe because I have reasonably good night vision - for a human that is!

@Fleura I have night blindness and wear glasses all the time. So the dark is a problem for me,

I used to suffer from nyctophobia until I was fourteen. Also, I resent the fact that my spell check does not recognize nyctophobia. Great post!

I love cemeteries but I’ve never been in one at night that I can recall. I don’t like being out at night anywhere really though. I was horribly phobic of the dark when I was little. It made it very hard for me to sleep.

@RasmaSandra we don’t have many street lights here and the sidewalks are terrible it’s hard to walk at night without a flashlight

@shaggin I grew up fearful of the dark but living in NYC during my younger days the city was so lit up that it was no problem walking at night,

I like seeing the costumes people come up with. The children are always adorable even in their scary costumes.

@RasmaSandra It's good in a way. You don't need to buy candy. It's also sad because you don't see their adorable costumes. We don't get trick-or-treaters here.

Yes, All Saints Eve is when the two worlds are closer than at any other time. My favorite time of the entire year. My ancestors like to visit. Cackle-Cackle!

I grew up with many ghost stories and legends from my Irish Granny and my Irish Mother. I never felt fear, and to this day, not really any kind of fear..only maybe of killers. I used love Halloween and running around getting candies.

Where I live, a deer could leap out of the tree line at any moment, and that is the only thing I am mindful of what might happen when walking in the dark.

I won't walk alone in the dark. We don't get any trick or treaters; so we don't buy any candy or put the porch light on. Have a good week.
