Woke Infested

You have probably seen the word 'woke' used throughout social media nowadays. It seems to have started with DeSantos and his idiocy over the last few years. Well if some of his bigotry wasn't just too much to bear now the "woke-infested" American Ornithological Society is planning to change bird's names and feels there is power in a name. The AOS president, Colleen Handel, says "We need a much more inclusive and engaging scientific process that focuses attention on the unique features and beauty of all birds themselves. Everyone who loves and cares about birds should be able to enjoy and study them freely--and birds need our help now more than ever." According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary the word 'woke' is defined as "aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues [especially issues of racial and social justice]. I personally think this AOS should be fighting for habitat and food issues not worrying about a bird's name that has been in existence for decades. I think many of the names given to birds have to do with the bird's personality or attributes and it would be a real shame to change them. The one they give as an example is the Wilson's Warbler.
