I will start right off by saying this movie is not for everyone. It is rated R for many reasons for sure. The gory shootouts, the subject line alone I’m sure would unsettle some, the language, and the endless use of the “N” word which I won’t use as it may offend some. Like all Tarantino films this one is over the top often and makes light of a bad situation. Some of the dialog is oddly funny. The movie runs about 2 hours and 45 minutes, some of which could have been cut. Again, I believe a Tarantino signature. The film was released in 2012. The plot is a Slave turns bounty hunter with the help of a German bounty hunter that need Django to identify a few of his targets. Through the film we find out that Djangos wife was sold to another plantation, and it becomes about finding and saving her. Again, like many Tarantino films there seems to be a number of famous actors in the film. It stars Jamie Foxx as Django, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washinton, Samel Jackson and many others you will more than likely know. Personally, I am not bothered or offended by subjects or words, so I liked the movie. It was funny at times, it was a thriller at times, the action was good, though over done at times. The film certainly was not made to tell a real-life story but to be a piece of entertainment. Of course, I have to mention the mistakes or little issues with the film. First the fact that the film is to take place in 1858 just before the Civil War, yet Django sports a pair of Sunglasses which were not readily available in the United States till somewhere around 1929 and still then they were mostly on the east coast till years later. Dr. Schultz pays with 12 $1000.00 bills, yet $1000.00 bills we not available till 1861 yet the film is taking place in 1858. Another timing issue…film takes place in 1858 but it does go through winter so we can assume the later part of the film is in 1859. However, we have at the end of the movie Dynamite seen and used, one little issue with that. Dynamite was not invented till 1864 and patented in 1867 by Alfred Nobel. There are many other issues I will let you find if you watch it. Overall if you can get past the subject and the violence and language, I think you will enjoy this movie.

This is a movie I've always wanted to see, just never really followed up on it. But based on your critique, it does sound like it would be a great movie to watch.
