None of Us are Getting Out of This Alive

I guess I am a morbid sort. Yesterday I talked to my grandson about things he needs to know about and do upon my passing. It rather upset him as I knew it would. I don't have a will but I did write up a long notepad(online)with all the info in it and my last words. I really feel that these things need to be talked about and I think it will be easier if he knows who to contact and what to do. For instance, I cannot reiterate enough that I DO NOT, under any circumstances, want to be buried. It creeps me out totally and I would definitely come back and do some haunting(not in a nice way) if I were buried. Ugh! He gave me his solemn oath that he would make it happen. I seem to think about that next step an awful lot lately. I am not really afraid of dying. I am just frustrated with the concept because I am so curious and I want to know what happens down the line and that my kids are okay. I want to come back and see that they are. It has been my experience that people don't come back and that hauntings are rare. I have thought about cybernetics but I feel it is much too expensive and there are no guarantees. I have also fantasized about having all my organs systematically replaced with younger ones but that would cost big time, have to find a good doctor that would do such a thing, and I haven't won the lottery yet. I guess there is just no getting around it. My mind is still that of a 36 year old but my body is that of a 90 year old and I am only 72! The poem is from netnax.com and I got it many years ago and added it to my collection of stuff.

Another interesting thing is that the route our souls will take out of this world has been designated for us, Since I was born on my left arm from the shoulder I have birthmarks that look like the Milky Way so I know which way the exit is. I also look forward and know my soul mate will be waiting to help me to the other side. I don't want to leave anything of me in this world so when I go I want to be created and my ashes scattered. I am grateful that my entire family has had a sixth sense that is passed on from one to the other, I have heard, seen, and felt, so many things and I know that the threshold to that other world is not far away.

I have my mother, grandmother, and best friend waiting for me. How nice to have your soul mate waiting for you. My grandmother and my daughter have the sixth sense. My grandson has some ability as well and is very spiritual. As far as the route our souls take being designated I am not sure how that will work.

I appreciate your candidness and the emotional weight that comes with discussing these matters. It takes courage to have such conversations, especially with loved ones. It's a testament to your thoughtfulness that you've taken the time to communicate your wishes and details. it's completely understandable to have reflections on mortality, coupled with curiosity about what lies beyond. Your desire to ensure your children are okay and your curiosity about the future speaks to the love and connection you hold for your family. Your wisdom and openness will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on those you love.

I love my daughter and my grandson. We are very close and I know my passing is going to be hard on them both. I want to have as much help available to them as possible. That's why I wrote this up for them. It will be very hard to let go of life when the time comes. Thank you for your kind words.

@celticeagle I truly appreciate your sentiment, and I can somewhat understand the importance of planning for the unexpected. I lost my brother suddenly (last September) due to heart aneurysm, and it left everything unplanned for his family. It's a challenging situation for them now.

@wiLLmaH ..........Sorry to hear that. It really doesn't take a lot of time to get things set up.

I am just like you..I think of these things all the time, all the time. That is because we love our kin..and want them to be okay when we are gone. And it is not the usual situation, I understand, same here. You are to be credited for your care and love for them.

I also have left a complete list of "to-dos" for my hubby. I have a will; but it needs to be updated. I like the poem. Have a great weekend.

It's a good idea to keep them updated. Mine is as close to a will as we will get.
