The two waterfalls that I have visited are the Niagara Falls and Jog Falls. Both have characteristics that could qualify them to be the best waterfall in the world.
Jog Falls is in India and after visiting Niagara Falls I wondered why I went to the US when back home I could have had a similar experience.
We have a waterfall in our garden and the plus point is that I can experience it every single day!!
Here is our waterfall

It is the sound of a waterfall that makes all the difference. Glad Saddie noticed it too (lol)
You can always watch them from a distance (lol)

The Canadian side of the falls is much prettier than the New York side from what I recall. I’ve seen a lot of gorgeous waterfalls but Niagara Falls is the biggest and most impressive. I’d love to see it again someday even the New York side which is closer for me and wouldn’t require a passport.

I have visited the Canadian side too and twice the US side. Yes. The Canadian side is better. We could even visit the back of the Falls by descending 125 ft using an elevator
On the US side I had the Maid of the Mist experience.

I love waterfalls, too, and I always enjoy finding one while I’m on a vacation. I found one on the first day of this trip, so it’s been a success.
I’ve been to Niagara Falls twice. I’ve only seen photos of Jog Falls but it looks beautiful. Of course, to me, all waterfalls are beautiful.

Our hotel was close to Niagara Falls - walking distance so I can say I visited the
Waterfalls several times (lol) . The Canadian side is fascinating.

@allknowing — the Canadian side is great because you can actually see all three falls. On the American side you can’t do that, but you can get very close to all three. Both sides have definite perks.

Waterfalls are an amazing part of nature.
I love going to Niagara Falls, it is far too commercial now, but the beauty and the roar of the falls is what brings people from near and far.
We were there once during the winter when it was 'frozen' over.
Gone was the roar, gone was the mist rising above the falls from the water falling.
It was kind of erie to say the least.

I can imagine that scene roar less and mist less. But it may have looked like a picture - a piece of art.

@allknowing This shows some mist in the air, but the falls are frozen over here.

Love your waterfall. Was at Victoria Falls a few months ago and we managed to do both sides of that one, an amazing experience. I've never really gone out of my way to see waterfalls, but somehow they always feature when I travel.

It's a lovely fall. I have seen only one fall in Odisha, the Debgarh falls.
