Those Fun Folks We Hung Out With in Junior High

When I was about 13 I was living in Pocatello with my mom, stepdad, and stepbrother. I was going to Franklin Junior High. It was a newly built school and very nice. I had three close friends: Cindy, Wendy, and Maymoy. Cindy was a fun lover, anything goes type of gal. Wendy was mostly serious, and Maymoy was a beautiful Asian girl and very classy. My mom was living the life. She drove my stepdad's brand new Buick station wagon with a window in the roof and all the bells and whistles of the mid-sixties. She enjoyed picking us up listening to us go on about our day and taking my friends home. This time was fun because we had a made-up language we used and talked about boys and all the embarrassing things you don't want Mom to overhear. We also had a ritual we went through when we went over a railroad track. Silliness personified. I talked to Wendy a few years ago and it was fun catching up with her. I'm sad that I can't contact Cindy or Maymoy and I think about them a lot and hope they are doing well. Do any of you have friends from school that you can't contact and wonder how they are doing?
