I listened to a very interesting interview with Rachel Maddow last night concerning her new book, Prequel: An American Fight Against Fascism, which is about America's fight to preserve democracy back during World War II. A couple of important points she discussed were:
Senator Henrik Shipstead from Minnesota was stealing from his staff back in the 1940s. When his senate staff would get paid every week he would force them to give him some of the money back as a kickback. He was a known antisemite(people who are hostile, and prejudiced towards Jewish people) Phylis Pasifero(not sure of spelling) who was a secretary in his office went to the FBI and told them that she believed he was working with a Nazi agent and that his wife had taken the evidence out of his office. She was so brave. A mere secretary back then. She was able to report upon a multi-million dollar plot to overtake the country.
Did you know Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh were also antisemites? Henry Ford wrote a series of books and pamphlets called The International Jew. These were published and distributed in the 1920s.

I find it interesting how much behind-the-scenes stuff we don't realize happened.

@celticeagle I don't understand. I know it's best not to oppose them, but to stand with them.

I have been learning a lot of American history from Bailey Sarian. She's a true crime podcaster who also does podcasts on history. She calls it Dark History.

There's probably a lot of this sort of thing that the American people are unaware of. Thanks for the info. Have a good week.
