Day 131
2 Corinthians 11:22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.
23 Are they ministers of Christ? —I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.
24 From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
25 Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness— 28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?
30 If I must boast, I will boast about the things which concern my infirmity.
31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
32 In Damascus the governor, under Aretas the king, was guarding the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me; 33 but I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped from his hands.
Do you know people who boast about their experiences, lifting themselves up to make themselves important in others eyes? What do you do? Do you run after them, or do you stay away from them?
Paul boasted about his life, not for his glory but for the glory of God. His boasting showed the Corinthian church how God took care of him in every situation. He blessed God, who knew he didn’t lie about what he said, and showed how God helped him escape from arrest by a basket out a window.
Many Christians boast about their work in the body to lift themselves up to other Christians. You know them. You stay away from them. However, there are those who boast about what God did for them and show how God took care of them in every situation. Therefore, their boasting was not to puff themselves up but to bless God for what He did for them.
When you give God glory in everything in your life, you can bless God too because you can see how God takes care of you. Just as God took care of Paul, He will take care of you.
Let’s pray: Father, let me boast about what You do in my life, lifting You up and blessing You for taking care of me in everything. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I've run into a couple of people like this. I try to avoid them. Have a blessed day.

I like to hear other people's experiences with God, and Jesus.
I have shared some of my own experiences from time to time too, and I know that some people like to hear them.
Such stories shared help us to strengthen our faith, I think too, and it also helps the hearers to do the same.
One minister used one of my experiences in his sermon, and it was nothing to boast about in the wrong way, but it was used as an example of how God works in an everyday ordinary person's life, like me, too.

@just4him Yes, I think that sharing experiences in an open, and honest way, is the best thing to do too.
