So, today I went shopping down town again.
Mum wrote me a shopping list, but as we only wanted two things from Tesco, my Mum said she didn't think it was worth taking the club card. But I said, ofcause it's worth it! So she gave me the club card.
Mum went to the hairdressers this morning instead of yesterday. But my step-dad had forgotten he was supposed to be taking her! It was 10:30am and he was supposed to be ready for then. My Mum was all ready with her coat on standing by the door waiting. So when he didn't come down, she went to the bottom of the stairs to see if he was coming. She said she was late already. My step-dad said, late for what? And she said hairdressers, but he didn't hear her and she had to repeat it. She said, they couldn't do it yesterday, so I'm having it done today! Eventually, and reluctantly, he came down to take her to the hairdressers, at 10:40am, making her at least 10 minutes late!
When my Mum had gone to the hairdressers, I set off down town. I wore my warm gloves. I went round Stowe Pool as usual. My hands were warm in my gloves but my nose was really cold. I went to the toilet by the Cathedral, then I went and posted an order for some more Christmas presents.
I went up the Three Spires Shopping centre to go to WH Smith. They had put a Christmas tree up in the middle of the Three Spires Shopping centre, but there are no lights on it yet, and it has a barrier round it. In WH Smith I went to look at the magazines. I got 3 magazines, Leisure Painter, The Artist and Artists and Illustrators. All 3 had a free bonus magazine. Two of them, the ones with Leisure Painter and The Artist magazines, I'd already got with previous magazines, so I'll give one of each away. I went and paid at the self service till. It came to £18.49. I put in a £20 note. A message came up on the screen saying 'Print Receipt' but I collected my change first. The machine said "Thank you for shopping with us!" and the screen went back to the start menu. I said, "Hey! I haven't printed my receipt yet!" Then I said, "Oh, well!" and I put my magazines in my trolley. Then I left the shop.
After that I went to the Tesco down town. I wanted to get some rocket lettuce, but they didn't have any. They had rocket and baby leaf but I didn't want rocket and baby leaf, I just wanted rocket on its own. My Mum wanted some Regina Blitz kitchen towel so I went and got that. It was £4 or £2.20 with club card, so it was a good job Mum gave me her club card!
Because I couldn't get any rocket lettuce from the Tesco down town I went back up to the top of the Three Spires Shopping centre to get to the big Tesco. I had to cross one set of traffic lights, and there was quite a crowd waiting to cross. But when there was not much traffic coming everyone started to cross, even though the little man hadn't gone green yet, so when they crossed I crossed too. I went through a shortcut to get to the Tescos down a dead end street called Green Hill Mews. When I got in the Tesco I went up on the lift and got a basket which I put ontop of my trolley. When I went into the actual shop part I went straight to the disabled toilet, because I was bursting! Then when I came out of the toilet I went straight to the fruit and veg section and got a packet of rocket lettuce, and then I went straight to the till. It was the same lady on the till that I had on Wednesday and when she saw my solitary packet of rocket lettuce she said, "Is that what you forgot on Wednesday?" and I laughed and said, "Yeah!" It was £ 1.20, but with club card it went down to 90p, so another good job I had the club card!
After I'd been to the big Tesco I retraced my steps down the Three Spires Shopping centre. Then I went to the Works. I got two pads of peel off paper pallets, one for me and one to give away. They were £3 each.
Next I went to Iceland (the shop not the country). I got a Chinese style chicken curry, a sweet and sour chicken, a paella, a packet of wagon wheels and I treated myself to an areo. It came to £10.05.
Then I went to the Oxfam book shop. I looked at the art books first, and chose 5 of them! Three of them were large hardbacks about watercolour, and the other two were paperbacks, one on watercolour and the other on oil pastels. They were £1.99 each. Then I went over to the Sci-Fi section and I got four books, three of them were £1.99 and the other one was £2.99. Two were by Peter F Hamilton, one was by Arthur C Clarke and the other one was by Isaac Asimov. I went to the till and told the lady I'd nearly bought her out of art books! As she was totalling up my books she asked, "Are these for you? Are you an artist?" and I said, "Yes." Then she totalled up the Sci-Fi books. In total it came to £18.91.
After that I went back to the toilet by the Cathedral, and then I set off for home. It was 1:45pm when I got back home. I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Then I gave my Mum her change, her Tesco club card and shopping list.
I had my lunch and a cup of camomile tea. Then I went into my bedroom, but I was only in there for half an hour before I had to come back out to start getting my dinner!
What have you lot been getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a great night.

Sounds like a good deal you got with the books on your shopping trip today.
My day was a bit busy this morning. Had to get gas for the car, ran into the grocery store for a few items Then I went and cleaned the church and put out the Christmas decorations in the sanctuary.

Yes, indeed. Just imagine how much I would have spent if I'd got them all at their original price!
Sounds like you did have a busy day. I hope you enjoyed it anyway.

What a delightful shopping adventure you had today!
It's always interesting to hear about the little details of people's days. I loved how you managed to snag those extra magazines with the bonus ones – a little unexpected treat!
Do you often explore different shops on your trips, or do you have favorite go-to places?

I did have quite an adventure, didn't I? Who needs Indiana Jones?
I'm glad you like hearing about my day.
Yes, I like it when they give freebies with the magazines.
I usually frequent the same shops. The Photo Expert shop, where I get my photos printed, is the newest shop I've been to.

It was a big shopping day, but I enjoyed it even though my nose was cold! I was making some Christmas cards last night but I've got to finish them off. I made one with a lantern on for Paul, one with dogs on for Nan Nutt and one with cats on for Dawn Boddington. I think that's her name now that she's married! I stamped them all. Some of the ink was a bit too wet though and it smudged on a paw print on the dog card. I said, I'll say that the dog slipped in the mud!
I am having a good weekend, thank you very much. It was made even better with watching Doctor Who last night!
I hope you are having a great weekend too.
