The Beetles in the Mountain

This is a path where I usually see these Volkswagen Beetles. They are not the insects that we see in nature. They are cars that can be seen and were popular in the past. It is a place where two old mechanics do their craft of repairing them. I am fascinated by how they work together every day. I can tell how passionate they are about their craft. In fact, I have not seen anyone who drives a bettle car in my city lately. Do you still see them at your place?

I see them every couple of months. You can tell the owners take great pride in how well their bugs (as we call them) are maintained. Seeing those cars still being driven makes me smile. It also reminds me of the movie, “Herbie Goes Bananas” about the intelligent bug car. They made a whole series of Herbie films.

I agree with you. It was like walking in memory lane after seeing them. Since I am a new neighbor, I have not tried to talk with them yet.

It seems I haven't seen them here yet. But I accept this shall be very convenient to drive in the city since it is small. Especially parking will be great

@Shavkat Yes, the parking is usually expensive in the cities. This is why having a car is expensive because paying the parking will cost so much.

I heard in China that it is expensive to have a parking area. Some companies out there do not provide spacious parking for their employees' cars. Unlike in my country, they do consider this for the convenience of their workers.

There used to be someone not far from here who repaired them as well and I would enjoy driving by and seeing the ones he had in the driveway. He isn’t doing it anymore though if he’s even still alive.

I was thinking that they will be vintage cars in the future. When it happens, they will be pricey to keep. I hope he still have it.

I hope they can repair them as good as new. But then, there are times that once the car is repaired, it needs to be repaired again and again. Unless the mechanic is really good at restoring them,

Uhm, he is not collecting them. They were just restoring them. It could be a buy and sell scheme.

The newer Volkswagens look quite different. These older ones were very popular in their day.

You said it right. I was thinking if they can remodel it with top-down style.

I used to see my manager before, who tends to drive this kind of car. I find it cute for her to have it.

THAT IS MY DREAM CAR! Now you can perfectly tell my age! Haha! It's fascinating how certain cars can become timeless classics noh?, and it's even more special when individuals are passionate about maintaining and repairing them. Kudos to them!
