I've drawn a cabbage!

Cabbage.

When we were at art class, when we arrived on the very first day, there were cabbages on most of the tables. But me and Paul, being the only newbies, did not have a cabbage on our table. We were practising ellipses and drawing a tea cup, and also drawing strange chickens upside down! On the week when we were mounting our best work, Paul said we were spared the cabbage! When the art course was over and I was doing painting at home, I thought I might draw a cabbage at home. So I found some pictures of cabbages on the copyright free pictures site on the internet. I printed one out ready to draw it. Over the past two weeks, whenever I got a spare minute, I've been working on my drawing of the cabbage. I drew the outline one day, then another day started to add colour. I've been using coloured pencil, and today I finished my picture of the cabbage while I was listening to a service by Freedom Church on YouTube. Above you can see the finished picture of the cabbage. The only thing is, when I'm using coloured pencils, when I sharpen them the leads tend to break! Anyway, now that I've finished the drawing of the cabbage, I might phone Paul and ask him if he'd like to come over and look at my paintings! I'll show him my others aswell, and the ones that I did before I even went to art class. And I've got some things to give him, some art magazines that I've got 2 of because I didn't realise I'd already got them when I got a pack of 2 (buy one get one free, Leisure Painter magazine and The Artist magazine.) I've also got him a peel of paper pallets pad. Anyway, what are you lot getting up to today? I hope you are all. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Thank you very much. I will do. I'm sure he will like to see my "masterpieces!" And I think he'll laugh when I show him the cabbage! You have a good week too.

That’s a really good drawing! When do your art classes start back up again? Was it only in the summer? I know you enjoyed them so much. Not much is going on here today. (American) football is what I am watching right now, and in an hour or so my dad will be over after church (I’m watching online today). I think it is going to be a good day.

@sharonelton I watched a lot of football, organized my living room, and watched church online.

@AmbiePam I've watched Church on YouTube today, aswell as actually going to my Church. I finished off my drawing of the cabbage, and finished off two Christmas cards I was making.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. The art classes are on three times a year. The 'spring' one starts in January, the 'Summer' one starts in May, and the 'Autumn/winter' one starts in September. I went to the Summer one this year and I should be going to the Summer one again next year. I hope you enjoyed your day, whatever you did.

Yes, it was starting to get dark when I took the photo. I might take another photo of it when it's lighter.

Like them cabbages, they look alive and tasty! Like you did it with pencil, just picking the colours would already had me spinning like a drunk top. Have you tried watercolour pencils, wouldn't the lead on those be easier to deal with? You are an inspiration

Thank you very much. I only had two green pencils in my packet, a light green and a dark green. I used a kind of blue colour over the light green to make a kind of inbetween colour. I have got some watercolour pencils, but I never thought of using those!
