Three Thirsty Thespians Revisited

My second visit to the Duke of Hamilton pub with the first being way back in 2019. The pub, established in 1721, in leafy and well heeled Hampstead. Surprised they let scruffy old me out of the Tube Station! The pub is thought to be named after the Duke of Hamilton, who in 1712 fount a duel with his cousin the Baron Mohun over their uncle’s estate. Both men died from mortal wounds received. It was quite the scandal at the time and lead to the ban on duelling. A reference to the duel can be seen in the pub sign. It is probably more famous, locally, for three regulars. Oliver Reed, Peter O’Toole and Richard Burton who spent many an afternoon in the corner or propping up the bar. For my visit I enjoyed a half of IPA, in the garden area. Not too chilly for early November. There is a short video about the pub below. https://youtu.be/hCSwAQErkqU

Just a short one this time. Really, once you've seen one pub you've pretty much seen them all!

It was a bit earlier in the month, but after my fall I took to feeling sorry for myself and was somewhat delayed in writing about this pub.

@Ronrybs Oh .ouch sorry about your fall..I was thinking if you added another TH word at the end you would have a bit of a tongue twister there.

@snowy22315 Sure I read somewhere that alliterations that come in threes are more pleasing to people. Don't know if it is true, but I tend to stick to it. Having said that I have seen lots of alliterations with several words that start with the same letter.

Well those three men must still visit there..their ghosts. I was crazy about each and every one of those stars. Oliver Reed playing Bill Sykes was rich. I am so glad you went there Ron..and had a sit down in the garden..would love to have sat there too. I'll see the video now..thanks now this made my day

I enjoyed the video, what a pleasant place where to sit outside to drink something. I can see the duel in the pub sign. liver Reed, Peter O’Toole and Richard Burton, all three well known to enjoy drinks.
