I heard recently about using a blow torch to get rid of snow/ice. Some people say it works wonderfully, others say it's inefficient and a waste of fuel.
Have you tried it,or do you know someone who has? I wouldn't use it at our compound but I was still curious.
One guy in another State said it made quick work of what could have been hours of shoveling.

We use rock salt for deicing. Never used a blow torch.

Umm, no thanks. When it’s icy we use rock salt. It works really well.
This reminded me that ever since the turkey fryers became popular and so many started frying their turkey, often near or even IN their garage, every year I see in the news how someone managed to burn their garage down or melt the siding on their house.
I think I will just stick to salt!

No I don't and seems kind of silly and overly dramatic.
