What was considered illegal and even banned in India came to the rescue of 41 workers who were trapped in a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand, India . The rat=hole miners made it possible for the 41 workers to be rescued. They were engaged on Monday and the rat-hole miners armed with shovels and spades got down to work digging through the debris. And this they achieved which the high tech machinery could not even after trying for several days. Kudos to manual work.

The dimension of what is being dug is compared to what rats burrow

I am glad everything worked out for those trapped miners. Because this is a prohibited activity, who should be held accountable for the miners who were present, or are they independent miners doing their own thing?

This was on our news. Such a relief for all concerned. One man had lost one son in a similar accident and he had another son in this cave-in. He would be beside himself with happiness.

We should always keep our manual work in our life for safety. When our computers collapse then we have some recourse.
