Day 136
Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if you see a man caught in sin, let the spiritual among you restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also become tempted.
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
4 Let each one examine his own work, then he will rejoice in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For each one will bear his own load.
Many people hide their crimes from the public while trying to prove to everyone they are special. Yet someone will always uncover their faults and show the world who they are.
Paul told the Galatian church they needed a spiritual person to restore those caught in sin with a spirit of gentleness. He told them they needed to be careful they didn’t fall into the same sin. When they did, they carried each other’s burdens, and fulfilled the law of Christ to love one another. He also told them not to think of themselves as someone special when they weren’t. In doing so, they deceived themselves. Instead, they were to examine themselves. When they did, they would rejoice in their achievements and not in what others did. In that way they carried their own load.
Many Christians fall into the same trap. They believe no one will notice their sin. They deceive themselves into believing no one will find them out. Yet someone always finds out about their sin and waves it as a red flag to the rest of the Christian community.
You know public Christians who fell because of their sin. They hid behind the guise of Christian morality. Yet when they were found out, they paid for their crimes and the body of Christ no longer trusted what they said. Paul didn’t say you were to leave those people alone, but to restore them. Only those who spent their time in the Word of God and were led by the Holy Spirit could restore a person caught in sin. Only the Holy Spirit could keep them from falling into the same trap of sin.
Satan will do everything he can to destroy the body of Christ. He starts with the leadership. If he can tear apart the body of Christ, he will claim victory because he caused them to sin. However, Satan will lose because there is always someone who will hold the body of Christ together. They use the glue of the Holy Spirit to restore people to fellowship.
Christians who spend their time in Bible study and prayer will know how to restore a person caught in sin. They use spiritual glue, the fruit of the Holy Spirit, to guide them in restoring the person. Through careful leading of the Holy Spirit, they won’t fall into the same trap Satan used to bring the downfall of the person they restore. Once restored, they can rejoice in their achievements because they showed the person the love of Jesus Christ.
Do you know someone caught in sin? Don’t shun him but restore him. Let him know the love of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit and bring him back into the body of Christ.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Holy Spirit live in me so I can help restore those Christians caught in sin and restore them to the body of Christ. Keep me from Satan’s traps so I don’t fall into the same sin. Let me rejoice in what You do through me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Jeff is right. The temptations are greater than ever. Our young people often fall into these traps. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for sharing. The temptations of the world are greater than ever, and the body of believers must band together to look out for one another and lift each other up from the evil of this world.

A lot of priests in the Catholic church indulged in hidden sins, but have now been caught out. It has brought much condemnation to them, as well as to their church.
When good people hide such sins, and cover them over, they are also encouraging the sinner to keep sinning, as there are no outer consequences to their sinning.
A sinner should always be called out by a spiritual person, strong enough not to be caught up in doing, or hiding that sin to others too.

@just4him Yes, they need to be strong in their faith, and not tempted to stray from living a life of truth, to stoop into sin instead.
A strong leader can bring others to the Lord, whereas a wayward one, just turns people away.

Beautiful message! Thank you for sharing.
It's sad that people live a fake life masking so much. Sometimes it's really tough to restore them.
I am blessed that I am in peace with myself.
