An interesting line of research in which employees are paid 100% for 80% of their time in exchange for 100% productivity. Off the cuff, this looks like a good idea, but some deeper reading reveals that companies and staff involved in this project are service workers, they do not actually manufacture or extract. The productivity baselines also seems a bit nebulous. That being said, almost all reported increased wellbeing and better employee relations. As a sometimes employer, I've always thought that labour selling (ie hiring someone's body and time for a wage), was dependent on measurable contractual outcomes. Personally, I would like to be sure the 20% employee time discount is truly measurable from both sides so it does not become a donation from either party or that it will increase costs to consumer. It appears most companies in these surveys will continue along, so probably they've managed to find some balance between increased costs, discounted time and actual productivity. It remains an interesting thought though, both for employers and employees. It appears some companies did not drop 1 full day in employee time, yet all their employees still preferred the extra perceived day off. Would you consider this as an employer/employee?

I would consider anything if I needed a job. That is what I did when working. I could not afford to be picky or anything..I just worked whatever and made good money.
