He's got blood shot eyes, and fast food wrappers all around, he's got another load to drop in some East Texas town He's been on the road for so long, it's running him down He's barely staying awake to the sound of a late night radio song, and it feels so wrong that he's rarely ever home, He sends money back to his wife Molly to keep his family fed, though he'd rather be joining them all for dinners and holding her instead It cuts like a hot knife, it fills him with sorrow, because he knows our time is borrowed, and that one day will be his last tomorrow in this life What gets to him the deepest, is all the precious things he's missed By: J.N.R Dutton

Sad story. I'm sure many truckers feel this story deep in their soul. They miss a lot of time with their families.

Yes, that's true. My favorite grandfather was a trucker as long as I knew him, and ANY time at home was extra precious to him, @MarieCoyle.

@jnrdutton Most truckers I know are deeply appreciative of their families and are good people.
