Frugal Shopping: Dollar Tree Haul 12.6.2023

I know you guys are just dying to see one of my Dollar Tree hauls. We have been relying heavily on bargains and the various dollar stores while we are dealing with all the doctors appointments and staying in hotels when going to see specialists etc. Anyway, we went today after Ollie's didn't have what we needed. As always I picked up some snack stuff, and I found this Nutastic! Hazlenut spread that I had never seen before and decided to pick some up today. I love Nutella so I wanted to try this. Then I looked at the information on the back and was pleased to see that it is made in the US. Then I saw not only that but it's from a little mom and pop company in Hubbard, Oregon. Which made me happy. Hubbard is a teeny little town that has like three thousand residents. Some of you know that I grew up in Oregon. I don't claim a lot of things from there but I do love a good small business story. I looked up the spread on google when we got back and its $15 from most places I could order it from. So I'm going to have to taste this stuff and see if it's any good. If it is- I'm going to have to go get some more. So here's my little haul: (Remember the Dollar Tree is now the $1.25 tree) -Generic/Dollar Tree Brand Sleep Aid Liquid- $1.25 (since this is DT brand, there's no other place that sells it to compare the price of it to) -JJ's Bakery Mini Apple Pies 3 pack- $1.25 (found them somewhere else for $3.25 for the same box- so that's a two dollar savings so far) -Rice Krispie Treats Mini's four packs x2- $1.25 x 2= $2.50 (I dont think I've ever seen them packages like this anywhere but Ollies at they are $1.99 there, so $1.99 x2 = $3.98 . So that's a $1.49 savings on that) -7 Days Soft Croissant with chocolate cream filling- $1.25 x2= $2.50. (They are currently $1.48 ea at walmart, so $1.48 x2= $2.96. So that's only a $0.46 savings on those. But hey every penny counts.) -Nutastic! Cocoa Hazlenut spread 10 oz- $1.25 ($14.99 is the cheapest I could find it elseware. So that's a great savings of $13.74!) So my total $10 something with tax etc. Without the savings I scored at DT, my total would of been $26.43. So I saved more than fifteen dollars! I thought that was a spectacular deal. @porwest , see I can save and do the money thing just like you! LOL.
