Day 144
Colossians 1:13 He delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over creation.
16 For by Him everything was created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers. Everything was created through Him and for Him.
17 He is before everything, and in Him everything consists.
18 He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He may have preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him and by Him all fullness should dwell, 20 to reconcile everything to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
21 You, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, He reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God, which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
27 To them God willed to make known what the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles are: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
What is your purpose? People spend years of their lives searching for something that will give them satisfaction for the reason they exist. Many people fail to find answers and commit suicide because they cannot find a reason for their existence.
Paul told the church at Colosse what Jesus did in them, giving them a purpose for their lives. He told them how God delivered them from darkness and delivered them by the power of His blood through the cross. Instead of being alienated from God, He reconciled them to Him. They only needed to do one thing: remain faithful in the hope of the gospel, grounded and steadfast, unmovable. Paul rejoiced in his sufferings because it meant reconciliation in the body of Christ for all those who believed in the hope he preached, the mystery hidden from generations past and revealed to them: Christ in them the hope of glory. Paul’s purpose was to preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in wisdom to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
When you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you found a reason for your life. What did you do with your new life? Did you find your purpose or are you still searching, wondering if Jesus was the answer, you were looking for?
Many Christians flounder because they aren’t rooted and grounded in their faith. They believe they missed something when they accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. They don’t see the change they expected so their purpose is lost.
When you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, the first thing that happens is that Satan will do everything he can to destroy your new faith and try to convince you that your salvation wasn’t real. He will bring doubt and fear into your life to the point where you don’t open your Bible, go to church, or spend time with other believers. If he can alienate you from Jesus, he can win your soul. DON’T LET HIM. Satan knows what his purpose is: to destroy the body of Christ. You need to know your purpose.
Accepting Jesus as your Savior and Lord is the first step in your salvation. To become rooted and grounded in your faith you need to open your Bible and read it. Study it. The only way you can do that is by connecting with other believers. Attend Bible studies. Pray. Seek to know God on a new level of faith. When you don’t give Satan a foothold in your life, he can’t destroy what Jesus did for you on the cross. You will find your purpose. When you do, you will rejoice in your salvation because Satan can’t seduce you away from Jesus and your salvation.
Paul rejoiced in the steadfastness of the Colossian church. He saw their faith. Paul knew nothing would move them away from Jesus.
Don’t let Satan move you away. Become grounded in your faith. Open your Bible, read, study, pray. When you do, Satan can’t fulfill his purpose in your life. Your purpose is firmly grounded in Christ Jesus and His work on the cross.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to remain steadfast in You by reading Your Word, studying it, praying, and getting together with other believers. Let Your purpose become fully grounded in my life so that Satan has no foothold. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Yes, a lot of people try to find a purpose for their lives, but Christians should try to fulfil God's purpose for their life, which is always a greater purpose than their own purpose, that they might find.

Yes, it is a greater purpose to fulfill God's purpose in our lives.
